Short answer: GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On PS5, the game unlocks at midnight local time in most countries, so it is not one worldwide launch: New Zealand plays first (11:00 UTC on November 18) and the Americas play last. In the US, the PlayStation Store lists 12:00 AM ET on November 19, which is 9:00 PM PT on November 18.
Important: Rockstar has not announced an official launch time. The times below come from the regional PlayStation Store listings. Rockstar says more countries can still be added, and store times can change before launch. We will update this page if Rockstar confirms anything.

US and Canada times
In the US and Canada the listing uses Eastern Time, so the west coast gets the game the evening before:
| Time zone | Unlock time |
|---|---|
| Eastern (New York, Toronto) | 12:00 AM, Thursday Nov 19 |
| Central (Chicago) | 11:00 PM, Wednesday Nov 18 |
| Mountain (Denver) | 10:00 PM, Wednesday Nov 18 |
| Pacific (Los Angeles, Vancouver) | 9:00 PM, Wednesday Nov 18 |
Australia works the same way: Perth gets the game at 9:00 PM on November 18.
What about Xbox?
The Xbox Store also lists midnight on November 19 in each market, but there is no published country-by-country Xbox schedule, so it is not 100% sure that Xbox follows the exact PS5 times. Expect midnight local time in most countries.
When can you preload GTA 6?
If you buy the digital version, you can preload from November 12, 2026 at midnight local time, one week before launch. Preloading only downloads the game: you still cannot play before the unlock time. Full guide: GTA 6 Preload: Date and How to Preload on PS5 and Xbox.
Make sure you have enough free space before preload day: see GTA 6 File Size: How Many GB on PS5 and Xbox?
Can you play GTA 6 early?
No. There is no official early access. A common trick is to switch your console to a region that unlocks earlier (like New Zealand). Be careful: Rockstar warns that game codes must match your account's region, and changing region can cause problems with your purchase. We do not recommend it.
Is GTA 6 out on PC on November 19?
No. GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Rockstar has not announced a PC date. Read GTA 6 PC Release Date: What We Know and the expected GTA 6 PC system requirements.
