GTA 6 is just over a month away on consoles, and the question PC players keep asking finally has a likely answer. According to a GamesBeat report published on October 13, 2026, Rockstar plans to release Grand Theft Auto VI on PC in the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed it.
Here is what is official, what is only reported, and what it means if you want to play GTA 6 on your PC.
What is official
- Release date: GTA 6 comes out on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Rockstar announced this date in November 2025, after moving the game from its earlier launch window.
- PC: Rockstar has not announced a PC version, a PC date or PC system requirements.
- Take-Two's position: at its May 2026 earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick repeated that the company's games eventually come to all platforms, without giving a PC date.
What the new report says
GamesBeat says four industry sources familiar with Rockstar's plans told it that the PC version is planned for Q1 2027, so between January and March. The sources asked to stay anonymous, and Rockstar did not answer GamesBeat's request for comment.
If it is true, PC players would wait about two to four months after the console launch. That is a big change from GTA 5, which reached PC about 19 months after it came out on consoles. GamesBeat adds that the PC version still has to meet the same quality bar as the console version, so the window could move.
Our take: treat Q1 2027 as likely but not certain. Until Rockstar announces it, any exact PC date you see online is a guess.
Will your PC run GTA 6?
There are no official PC requirements yet, so nobody can tell you for sure. What we can give you is a reference point: the console versions run on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, so a PC at or above that level is in a good starting position.
As a rough, unofficial guide based on how PS5-class hardware compares to PC parts:
| Around console level (estimate) | |
|---|---|
| Graphics card | RTX 2070 Super / RX 6700 class or better, with 8 GB of VRAM or more |
| Processor | 8-core CPU like a Ryzen 7 3700X or newer |
| RAM | 16 GB |
| Storage | SSD (NVMe recommended) |
| System | 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 |
These are our estimates, not Rockstar's requirements. Rockstar's PC versions usually add higher settings that need much more power, and the official requirements could be lower or higher than this.

- If you are thinking about an upgrade, read our RTX 50 vs RX 9000 comparison before you buy. GPU prices are rising in 2026 because of memory shortages.
