GTA 6 Cheats: Will There Be Cheat Codes? (PS5 & Xbox)

There are no GTA 6 cheat codes yet. GTA 6 comes out on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and Rockstar has not announced a single cheat. Any "GTA 6 cheats" list you see today is made up, and most of them are simply the GTA 5 codes with a new title.

That said, every main Grand Theft Auto game has had cheats, and so did Red Dead Redemption 2. Below is what we know, how cheats are likely to work in GTA 6, the fakes to avoid, and the full list of GTA 5 cheats for reference. We will update this page with the real codes on launch day.

Will GTA 6 have cheats?

Very likely, but it is not confirmed. Rockstar has not mentioned cheats in any of its official GTA VI announcements.

Here is why most players expect them:

• Every main GTA game had cheats, from GTA III to GTA 5.
• Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar's last big single-player game, also had cheats, even if they worked differently (see below).
• Cheats only ever worked in story mode. Keeping them out of the online mode was never a problem for Rockstar.

The one thing nobody can tell you yet is how you will enter them, and which cheats will exist.

How GTA 6 cheats will probably work

Rockstar has used three systems in its recent games. GTA 6 will probably use one of them, or a mix:

System	Used in	How it works
Button combinations	GTA 5 (consoles)	Press a sequence of buttons quickly during play
Phone numbers	GTA 5	Dial a number on the in-game phone
Cheats menu with phrases	Red Dead Redemption 2	Type or pick a phrase in a pause menu; some cheats are unlocked by finding in-game newspapers

GTA 6 has a phone, so phone-number cheats would fit naturally. On the other hand, the menu system of Red Dead Redemption 2 is the most recent one Rockstar built.

Note that GTA 6 launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. There is no PC version at launch, so typed PC cheats like in GTA 5 are not coming on day one. More on that in our GTA 6 PC release date article.

Cheats we expect in GTA 6

These are expectations, based on GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. None of them is confirmed.

• Invincibility for a few minutes
• Weapons and ammo
• Raise or lower your wanted level
• Spawn vehicles (a car, a bike, a helicopter, a plane, maybe a boat given the size of Leonida's coast)
• Change the weather (useful with the hurricanes and tropical storms Rockstar has shown)
• Slow motion, explosive or fire bullets, super jump and faster running
• Drunk mode and other fun effects

A money cheat is unlikely. GTA 5 never had one, and Rockstar has a strong reason to avoid it: money is the core of GTA Online. Be very careful with anything that promises free money (see below).

Will cheats disable trophies and achievements?

Probably. In GTA 5, using a cheat disables achievements and trophies for the rest of that session: you have to reload a save or restart the game to earn them again. Some cheats are also refused during certain missions ("Cheat denied"), and starting a mission can turn off active cheats.

We expect GTA 6 to work the same way. Save before you use cheats, and avoid saving over your main file if you are hunting trophies.

Will cheats work in GTA 6 Online?

Almost certainly not. GTA 5 cheats never worked in GTA Online, and Rockstar has not even given a date for GTA 6's online mode yet. See our GTA 6 Online release date article for what Rockstar has said so far.

Fake GTA 6 cheats and scams to avoid

Before and after a big launch, fake cheats are everywhere. Watch out for:

• "GTA 6 cheat code lists" published before November 19. They are guesses or copies of GTA 5 codes.
• "Free money" or "money generator" sites. They ask for your PSN, Xbox or Rockstar login, or make you download something. They steal accounts.
• "GTA 6 PC cheats" or "trainers". There is no PC version yet, so any download claiming to be one is fake, and possibly malware.
• Modded saves and "unlock all" services. They break Rockstar's terms and can get your account banned.

The only real cheats will be the ones in the game itself. We will list them here once they are confirmed.

When will we know the real GTA 6 cheats?

On November 19, 2026, when players get the game. In past Rockstar games, players found the cheats within hours of launch. We will add the full list here as soon as each cheat is tested and confirmed, with the button combinations for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The codes will go in our GTA 6 cheat codes list, sorted by category.

FAQ

Are there GTA 6 cheat codes right now?

No. The game is not out yet, and Rockstar has not announced any cheats. Every list online today is a guess or a copy of GTA 5 codes.

Do GTA 5 cheats work in GTA 6?

No. Each GTA game has its own codes. GTA 5 codes are listed above only for reference.

Will GTA 6 have a money cheat?

Probably not. GTA 5 never had one, and money is central to GTA Online. Sites promising GTA 6 money cheats are scams.

Can I use cheats in GTA 6 Online?

Almost certainly not. In GTA 5, cheats only worked in story mode.

Will cheats disable trophies in GTA 6?

In GTA 5 they did, for the rest of the session. Expect the same in GTA 6 and save before you use them.

Are there GTA 6 cheats for PC?

No. GTA 6 launches only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced, so any "GTA 6 PC cheat" or trainer is fake.
