GTA 6 PC System Requirements: What We Know and What to Expect
GTA 6 PC System Requirements: What We Know and What to Expect

Rockstar has not announced official PC system requirements for GTA 6, and it has not announced a PC version at all. GTA VI launches on November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Any website showing "official GTA 6 PC requirements" today is guessing.

What we can do is look at the facts we do have: the console hardware GTA 6 was built for, how it reportedly runs on it, and what Rockstar asked for in its last PC release. That gives a realistic idea of what your PC will need, so you are not caught out if a PC version is announced. We will update this page the day Rockstar publishes the real requirements.

Quick answer: to match the console version, expect to need something like an 8-core processor, a graphics card around an RTX 3060 Ti / RX 6700 class, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD. For 60 FPS or more, aim higher. This is our estimate, not Rockstar's.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Not officially. GamesBeat reported on October 13, 2026, citing four unnamed industry sources, that a PC version is planned for the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar did not comment, and Take-Two has only confirmed the November 19 console date. Everything known is in our news: GTA 6 PC Release Date: What We Know.

What GTA 6 was built for: the console hardware

GTA 6 was made for this generation of consoles, so their hardware is the best starting point. These are the official specs from Sony and Microsoft.

PlayStation 5 Xbox Series X Xbox Series S
Processor 8-core AMD Zen 2, up to 3.5 GHz 8-core AMD Zen 2, 3.8 GHz 8-core AMD Zen 2, 3.6 GHz
Graphics AMD RDNA 2, 10.3 TFLOPS AMD RDNA 2, 12 TFLOPS AMD RDNA 2, 4 TFLOPS
Memory 16 GB GDDR6 16 GB GDDR6 10 GB GDDR6
Storage Custom NVMe SSD Custom NVMe SSD Custom NVMe SSD

The PS5's processor is close to a desktop Ryzen 7 3700X running at lower clocks, and its graphics chip is usually placed around an RX 6700 or RTX 2070 Super. Those comparisons are approximate: consoles are easier for developers to optimize for than PCs.

How GTA 6 runs on console

According to a report by Push Square on August 28, 2026, Rockstar North's Rob Nelson reportedly said the game targets 30 FPS on all consoles, and that a 60 FPS option was still undecided. The comments came secondhand, through a YouTuber who said he spoke with him. Rockstar has not published final performance modes yet.

That matters for PC. If a PS5 needs its full power for 30 FPS, a PC needs a lot more than PS5-level hardware to reach a steady 60 FPS, especially on the processor side: a big, busy open world like Vice City is heavy on the CPU.

Rockstar's last PC release: GTA 5 Enhanced

The newest PC requirements Rockstar has published are for GTA 5 Enhanced (2025), the upgraded PC version of GTA 5. GTA 6 is a much bigger game, so treat these as the floor, not the target.

Minimum Recommended
OS Windows 10 Windows 11
Processor Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD FX-9590 Intel Core i5-9600K or AMD Ryzen 5 3600
RAM 8 GB 16 GB
Graphics card GTX 1630 or RX 6400 (4 GB) RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT (8 GB)
Storage 105 GB, SSD required 105 GB, SSD

Two things stand out: Rockstar already requires an SSD, and already recommends Windows 11 and 16 GB of RAM for its old game.

What we expect for GTA 6 on PC (our estimate)

Based on the console hardware, the reported 30 FPS target and GTA 5 Enhanced, this is our estimate. It is not official, and we will replace it with Rockstar's requirements as soon as they exist.

Console-like (1080p, 30+ FPS) Smooth (1080p/1440p, 60 FPS) High-end (1440p/4K, 60+ FPS)
Processor 8-core, Ryzen 7 3700X / Core i7-10700 class Ryzen 7 5700X3D / Core i5-13600K class Ryzen 7 7800X3D or faster
Graphics card RTX 3060 Ti / RX 6700 class, 8 GB+ RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT / RX 9070 class, 12 GB+ RTX 5080 / RTX 4080 class, 16 GB
RAM 16 GB 16 to 32 GB 32 GB
Storage NVMe SSD NVMe SSD NVMe SSD
OS Windows 10/11 64-bit Windows 11 Windows 11

A few honest caveats:

  • The processor matters more than usual. If consoles are held to 30 FPS, the CPU is likely part of the reason. A 6-core from 2019 may be fine for GTA 5 but struggle in GTA 6.
  • 8 GB of graphics memory will be tight. Big open worlds with high-quality textures are where 8 GB cards struggle first. If you are buying a card now, take 12 or 16 GB.
  • Upscaling will help a lot. DLSS, FSR and XeSS are likely to be the difference between 40 and 60 FPS on mid-range cards, but Rockstar has not said which ones GTA 6 will support on PC.
  • A hard drive will not do. GTA 5 Enhanced already requires an SSD.

You do not have to guess what is inside your PC or how it compares:

  1. Find your parts: our Check My PC tool shows your graphics card and processor in seconds. Not sure how? Read How to Check if Your PC Can Run Any Game.
  2. Compare with the table above: put your graphics card next to an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 in our Compare Hardware tool to see how far above or below you are.
  3. Planning an upgrade? Prices are going up, not down. Our RTX 50 vs RX 9000 comparison shows which card gives the most for your money right now.

FAQ

Has Rockstar announced GTA 6 PC system requirements?

No. As of October 15, 2026, Rockstar has not announced a PC version or any PC requirements. Specs you see elsewhere are estimates, like ours.

Will GTA 6 run on a GTX 1060 or RX 580?

Very unlikely at playable settings. These cards are well below the console graphics chips, and they sit between the minimum and recommended cards for GTA 5 Enhanced, a much older game.

Is 16 GB of RAM enough for GTA 6?

Most likely, yes, for the console-like experience. 32 GB gives more room if you keep a browser, Discord or recording apps open while you play.

Will GTA 6 need an SSD on PC?

We expect so. Rockstar already requires an SSD for GTA 5 Enhanced, and the consoles GTA 6 was built for all use fast NVMe SSDs.

Should I upgrade my PC now for GTA 6?

If your PC is well below the console-like column, an upgrade will be needed anyway. If it is close, waiting for the official requirements is the safer move, since nothing is confirmed and the PC version is not even announced.

Console specs are from Sony and Microsoft. GTA 5 Enhanced requirements are from Rockstar, as reported by Sportskeeda. Sources: GamesBeat, Push Square, Forbes, Sportskeeda, PlayStation Blog. Last checked October 15, 2026.
