FPS in a typical game, High settings, 1080p, with your processor
Your graphics card vs cards around its price (price ÷ FPS)
Prices in US dollars, checked in October 2026. They change every week: use them as a guide, not a quote. Windows, monitor, keyboard and mouse are not included. Very old parts sell rarely, so their prices are rough.
Each graphics card and processor has a typical used price (eBay sold listings in the US) and, if it is still sold new, a usual store price. Memory is priced per GB for its type (DDR3, DDR4 or DDR5). The motherboard, power supply, case and cooling are counted as budget parts that match your processor and graphics card.
The "worth" price is a little lower than the sum of the used parts, because complete used PCs usually sell at a discount. The "build today" price takes the cheaper of new and used for each part. The upgrade chart uses the same FPS model as our FPS estimator.
A used gaming PC is usually worth a bit less than the sum of its used parts. The graphics card is most of the value: check its used price first. The estimate above uses typical eBay sold prices in the US.

New parts cost more than used ones, and in 2026 memory, storage and graphics card prices went up a lot. Parts that are not sold new any more are counted at their used price.
No. The estimate is for the PC itself: graphics card, processor, memory, motherboard, storage, power supply, case and cooling.
Not with this tool. Laptop prices depend on the whole model (screen, build, battery), so this estimate is for desktop PCs only.
