Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3, "Journey to the Sky", is out now. It brings two new S-Rank Agents, Phoenix and Severian, playable combat mechs in the main story, a Halloween-style event with a free outfit, and team-building help for new players. Here is when it went live, what is new, and what to pull for.
Quick answer: Version 3.3 went live on October 21, 2026 after about five hours of maintenance. Phoenix (S-Rank, Fire, Anomaly) is on the first-half banner with a Velina rerun. Severian (S-Rank, Wind, Attack) and a Norma rerun follow in the second half, from November 11.

The combat second-in-command of Krampus. Her Core Skill, Nirvana, lets later Anomaly damage on afflicted enemies land critical hits, and she can revive on the spot with full HP. Signature W-Engine: Plume of Rebirth.
Severian
S-Rank · Wind · Attack
A by-the-book senior commissioner at New Eridu Public Security. His Core Skill, Endless Breeze, automatically dodges an attack and counters. Signature W-Engine: Incarcerating Grip.

Phase I ends on November 11 at 11:59 server time, and Phase II starts at 12:00 the same day.
Should you pull? Phoenix pairs naturally with Velina: both are Anomaly Agents, so if you want an Anomaly team, Phase I is the one. Severian is a straightforward Attack DPS whose automatic dodge makes him forgiving for newer players. If you only want one, decide on your team: Anomaly (Phoenix) or Attack (Severian).

Story and mech combat
The new main chapter, "Journey to the Sky", continues in Roscaelifer as outside factions (TOPS, Krampus and the NEPD) get involved in the city's affairs. You learn more about the Void Hunters, the Enchainers and Lady Sunbringer, and the story builds toward what is hidden at the top of Roscaelifer's highest tower.
The big new feature is mech combat. In the story, Lindverne uses her Karma Core power, "Genesis Reconstruction", to build combat mechs that Proxies can pilot:
- The mechs have melee and ranged modes that you can switch freely.
- An EX Special Attack or a dodge unlocks a stronger laser attack.
- HoYoverse says mech combat will continue in future versions.
Events and free rewards
- Spooky Funhouse Tales: the main event. It rewards the new A-Rank W-Engine Candlelit Scheme and the Angels of Delusion outfit (clear all Mission Mode stages in the "Angels Support Operation").
- Trails of the Hobbling Crow: a murder mystery event.
- Cyber Miracle Healer, On Duty!: fix malfunctioning Bangboo.
- Repair! Drifting Art and double-drop events for Area Patrol and Combat Simulation.
- Log-in events with free rewards.
New outfits: Phoenix gets Daydream Complex and The Illness Called Life, and Severian gets Solemnly Impeccable.
Livestream code: the 3.3 livestream code JRNY2SKY (300 Polychromes and more) expired on October 11. Keep an eye on the official channels for new codes during the version.
Changes for new players
3.3 makes the game easier to get into:
- Strategy guides inside the game, with a "Fairy's Recommendation" team builder and upgrade recommendations.
- A controls tutorial.
- Risk warnings before some permanent combat modes, so you know if your team is ready.
- Clearer Proxy profile and rank-up rewards.
