Star Wars Battlefront 3 Reportedly at DICE and Respawn
Star Wars Battlefront 3 Reportedly at DICE and Respawn

Star Wars Battlefront 3 is reportedly the new project bringing DICE and Respawn together at EA. The publisher confirmed the studio partnership on October 21, 2026, but did not reveal the game's name. Variety separately reports that multiple sources identify it as a new Battlefront game for Lucasfilm.

That distinction matters: there is an official collaboration announcement and a reported game identity, rather than a full Battlefront 3 reveal. Neither a release date nor PC requirements appear in EA's announcement.

What EA has confirmed

In its October 21 company update, EA says Respawn and DICE will collaborate on a future project within its shooter portfolio. The announcement discusses that collaboration alongside future Battlefield titles and continued investment in Apex.

It does not name Battlefront, explain which studio will lead development, or describe the game's modes. Readers following our latest gaming news should therefore treat the partnership and the Battlefront report as two separate pieces of information.

Why the project is being called Battlefront 3

Variety's reporting goes further than EA's public statement: the publication says multiple sources identify the collaboration as Star Wars: Battlefront 3 for Lucasfilm. This gives the story more substance than speculation based only on the two studios' names.

However, source-based reporting does not settle every detail. Until the publisher presents the game, its final title, scope and release plans remain open questions. A studio partnership alone cannot tell us whether there will be a campaign, which Star Wars eras might feature, or how multiplayer would work.

What this means for PC players

There are no Battlefront 3 PC specifications or performance targets in the announcement. A GPU recommendation, download size or FPS estimate would be premature, and the requirements of an older Battlefront game should not be presented as those of a sequel.

For now, the official Battlefront II Steam page is a source for the existing game's features and requirements. It lists DICE as the developer and November 16, 2017 as its release date; it is not a store listing for Battlefront 3.

If you are preparing your PC for upcoming games, start by checking your current PC specifications. You can use our game compatibility directory for titles already covered, but hold off on a Battlefront-specific upgrade until there are official requirements and actual benchmarks.

Release date and platforms remain unannounced

EA's statement provides no release window or platform list for the joint project. It also contains no Battlefront gameplay reveal. A development report should not be read as a promise that a launch or trailer is close.

The next useful milestone is a named announcement from EA or Lucasfilm, followed by concrete platform and gameplay information. Our upcoming releases directory covers other games to follow while those details remain unresolved.
