How the comparison works

Every graphics card and processor has a gaming performance score: a GTX 1060 6GB and a Ryzen 5 3600 are both 100. A part with 150 is about 50% faster in games. The FPS charts use the same model as theFPS estimator: graphics cards are compared with a fast processor, processors with a fast graphics card, so you see the difference of the two parts only.

Value for money divides the performance by the price you would pay today: the cheaper of the store price (new) and the typical eBay price (used). Specs are the official ones; for grouped names like "RTX 3070 / 3070 Ti" they are the specs of the first model.

Compare hardware: FAQ

How are the graphics cards and processors compared?

Every part has a performance score: a GTX 1060 6GB is 100 for graphics cards and a Ryzen 5 3600 is 100 for processors. A score of 200 means about twice as fast in games. The FPS numbers come from the same model as our FPS estimator.

Is a faster graphics card always worth it?

Only if your processor can keep up. A very fast graphics card with an old processor is held back in many games. Compare your processor too, and check the games you play with the FPS estimator.

Where do the prices and specs come from?

Specs are the official ones from NVIDIA, AMD and Intel. Prices are typical US prices: store prices for parts still sold new, eBay sold prices for the others. Prices change every week, so use them as a guide.

Why are some parts grouped, like "i5-12400 / 12600K"?

Parts with almost the same gaming performance share one score, so the list stays short and easy to search.
